Ann-Morris Inc was established in 1947 by founders Ann and Morris Schinderman, who recognized an opportunity to import European antiques to New York after WWII. Initially, the business focused on bringing unique antiques to the mainstream consumer market in NYC.
As the years passed, Ann-Morris transitioned from specializing in antique imports to creating custom lighting and fabrications. In the 1970s, the company had positioned itself to be a premier manufacturer of custom lighting, kitchen pot racks, and bar stools. This shift was further influenced by Ralph Lauren and his design team in the 1980s, who frequently requested re-manufactured one-of-a-kind antique lighting. Responding to these increased requests, Ann-Morris began expanding its network of skilled metalworkers in the NYC tri-state area, developing a manufacturing process that emphasized quality and craftsmanship.
Today, over 50 years later, these products remain the core of Ann-Morris’ operations. The company prides itself on its rich history of collaboration with the world’s leading architects and designers, fostering valuable partnerships that endure to this day.
Ann-Morris continues to blend traditional techniques with innovative designs, ensuring each piece reflects a legacy of sophistication and elegance. Explore our offerings and discover how Ann-Morris can illuminate your space with unmatched style and quality.

MATERIALS, MANUFACTURING AND DESIGN
Ann-Morris has evolved from its antique roots to become a leader in design and manufacturing. Under the visionary leadership of Herbie Schinderman, our second-generation director, we have set a new standard in lighting manufacturing. Collaborating with master artisans, Herbie developed an exclusive collection of custom lighting and pot racks.
The essence of Ann-Morris design lies in the careful selection and transformation of metals, perfected through expert plating and finishing techniques. Each piece undergoes strict quality control to ensure it meets and exceeds our high standards of excellence. This commitment to quality and craftsmanship defines every Ann-Morris fixture.
Custom Lighting
Ann-Morris Inc began with antique lighting and evolved into experts in restoration, plating, assembly, and re-electrification of century-old pieces. Working with intricate antique lighting laid the foundation for our custom manufacturing expertise.
Today, Ann-Morris offers a variety of sizes, finishes, and plating options. In addition to metal plating, all our lighting can be customized in any paint color, providing clients with endless possibilities to match any home or setting. Our diverse options allow clients to achieve their vision with Ann-Morris products.
Custom Pot Racks
Ann-Morris is renowned for creating exquisite, tailor-made pot racks. Inspired by early 20th-century French bistro pot racks, Herbie Schinderman's decades of buying trips to Europe influenced our designs. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing uses the highest quality materials, making our pot racks functional art pieces tailored to each client's desires.
Reflecting five decades of craftsmanship, our pot racks are available in various finishes, sizes, and configurations. Whether as a statement piece over a kitchen island or nestled within a cozy kitchen, an Ann-Morris pot rack exemplifies custom-made luxury and practical elegance.
